SNOWFALL — Episode I: Whitehorn Peak
Five years ago, mountain rescuer Rico led a five-person rope team up the north ridge of Whitehorn Peak. A blizzard hit. His partner Elena fell. The official report says the rope snapped. Rico signed it — and never climbed again.
Tonight the phone rings. Three climbers have been missing for four days. An emergency beacon is transmitting from the ridge, and no helicopter can fly while the storm lasts. The dispatcher on the line says you know that trail better than anyone alive.
So you drive back to the mountain.
Climb alone. Talk to the only voice you have. Your one link to the world is a handheld radio. Report what you find, answer the dispatcher, or stay silent — every conversation is fully voiced, and every answer is timed. The storm won't wait for you, and neither will she.
Nothing on this trail is what it seems. Fresh tracks where there should be none. A camp nobody slept in. Evidence laid out as if someone wanted you to find it. And somewhere in the static, a voice from the night you've spent five years trying to forget.
